Promote Yourself on eBay©
by Cheryl L. Coccaro
The prime purpose, in my opinion, about selling on eBay is that you are able to make extra money part time IF you know what you are doing.
Many start off very aggressively and price their pieces way too high. I stress that you need to develop feedback that is positive in the beginning, so
you should start off selling under $10.00. Don't put up for auction your best work, but put up sellable items priced sensibly. It doesn't even need to
be jewelry. Sell some beads, findings, etc just to make some sales.
Then gradually increase your selling price. You will develop the skills in selling and you will be able to list a higher priced item, along with the
lower priced ones. You create a "lost leader" in the lower priced items and draw the lookers to your other auctions.
Right from the beginning, create your about me page. This is your SALES PAGE. The link to your website where you can offer all the higher priced
items. You want this sales page to be professional and match your website in the look and feel.
eBay viewers will never find your website if you don't create the link to it! Every email and every auction should try to tease them into seeing your
website.
At the end of the auctions, your emails should include another link to your website and you should add the buyers to your email list to notify them
when you have new items listed. Gather your names now, and promote yourself 24/7. I do!
