Here are some practical tips to help you achieve this year's
2008 resolutions.
( You did make some,
didn't you? )
1. You are
not crazy...just talk to yourself.
Imagine how you should lead your life each day
and do listen and
follow that
inner voice that
speaks to you.
2. Pay yourself for work well done.
All businesses need to
pay the owner a small
amount of money;
this should go for a
special reward,
after all your hard
work...you deserve
it.
3. Complete your monthly reports.
Your
monthly report
will show you just how well you’ve
achieved your goals.
Repeat this process
each and every month
and you can easily
see just how close
you came to reaching
your goal.
Do the same thing at the end of the year
and you tax reports
will almost be done.
Don't forget to set
new goals at the
beginning of EACH
year.
4. Have a personal motivational
time.
Get yourself excited by listening to some motivational speeches or taped seminars
or set aside some
time each day to
read success related
articles and books.
This is a great way
to “psych”
yourself up.
5. Reward yourself. When you’ve completed a difficult task, be sure you spend time
doing something you
really like to do.
Make sure you devote
this time to
you...you deserve
it.
6. Set Mt.
Everest goals.
Most motivational
articles suggests you set
small
size goals. Do set
some high reaching
goals and don't
become discourage
when they are not
realized
immediately.
Remember, inch by
inch...anything's a
cinch. They may energize you to
do one more thing
towards the top of
the mountain.
7. Ask others for help.
Share your
goals and ideas with others,
and also ask them for their ideas
and goals. Let them know when you succeed, so they’ll maintain an interest in you along the way.
Goals become a
reality when they
are written down and
verbalized.
8. Organize
your space.
Don’t let yourself be cluttered by equipment, ideas and paper. Keep everything organized,
so you can focus on what’s really important.
9. Do your best work at your best time.
You know the time of
day when you’re most productive? Be sure you spend this time on your highest-priority tasks
as they easily will
be achieved and make
you closer to
reaching your goal.
10. Give yourself something to look forward to.
It might be the occasional weekend away, or time spent relaxing with a friend. Besides motivating yourself, this will create balance in
your life which we
all need.
11. Make things a game.
If you like baseball, pretend that overcoming
obstacles during the
day is like
succeeding and
hitting the ball. See
yourself connecting
with the task and succeeding.
12. Choose
your friends.
Cultivate personal and professional relationships with people who are enthusiastic and excited about life. Some of that enthusiasm will rub off on you.
When things do not
go quite right, your
friends can help you
get back on track.
13. Read motivating
books and magazines.
Stop at your bookstore or library and pick up some autobiographies of people who have made it.
Successful and
motivate people can
give you tips and
hints to keep on
going. Learn some lessons from these great masters that you can adapt to your own work life.
Like I have said
before, "Copy Me."
14. Work where you’re most comfortable.
This might be a specific room in your home, or a specific part of your office. It might also mean that you arrange your desk or workspace in the most comfortable manner possible.
Remember: Your environment influences productivity and satisfaction.
15. Use great tools.
Whatever equipment you use in your work or personal life, get the best. You won’t be disappointed, and you’ll end up
being comfortable in whatever
task you do.
16. Take pride in your results.
Boast just a bit
about things you’ve
done well.
17. Offer advice.
Offer to help other people.
Your willingly to share what you’ve learned over the years
with others allows
you to gain confidence.
Helping others perfect their skills
helps you feel good
about yourself.
After all, everyone
starts in the same
place...the bottom.
18. Build your work around a theme.
If there’s a particular motive driving your life—say,
extra income or learning
a new craft—organize
your goals and your
work around that
motive. See yourself
being successful.
19. Exercise.
Physical exercise stimulates the muscular and nervous systems
and helps you sleep better.
When you are sleep
deprive, you will
not function
properly.
20. Learn how to do things better.
Always seek ways to build your knowledge and skills.
Read, attend a
seminar or take a
class, or simply
share with a friend and expose yourself to new ideas.
Put a few of these
simple tips into
action each day and
you will see the
results and remember
to
"JUST DO IT".
